Rack Details
The 4 bike model weighs approx 68 lbs and the 6 bike model weighs approx 78 lbs.
The weight capacity is 220lbs for both the 4 and 6 models.
Both racks are approx 63″ tall when unfolded. The 4 bike model measures 38″ wide and the 6 bike model measures 60″ wide.
The racks will only fit class III, IV, or V with a 2″ hitch receiver size. Using the racks with any other type of hitch or adapter will void the warranty and is not recommended.
We are proud to say that all of our racks are produced in Alberta Canada by avid mountain bikers. This includes all laser cutting, welding, plating and coating. We ensure to procure Canadian inputs whenever possible including the raw steel, hardware, decals and even the bungee straps.
We offer a 2 year warranty on the structural components on the rack. This includes all of the steel pieces and the welds. Due to our inability to control how the racks are handled we do not offer a warranty on the cosmetic aspects of the rack including the coating and plating. All rubber and bungee pieces are considered consumables and can be purchased on our website or sourced through a local hardware store. Warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable.
Please see the rack item page for a picture of the custom colours that we offer. If you are looking for a colour that we do not offer please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate. Please note that an additional charge may apply.
Yes! The fat bikes will require special attention if fully loading the rack as they have wider chainstays than a typical mountain bike. The rear wheel bungee is already set up for fat bikes, simply use the loop end of the bungee to secure the rear wheel rather than using the plastic ball.
Absolutely. Drop bars come in a variety of shapes and sizes and because of this they typically take up more space on the rack. A 4 bike rack will easily hold 2 drop bar bikes and a 6 bike rack will easily hold a minimum of 3 drop bar bikes and sometimes 4 depending on the shape and size of the drop bars.
No the rack will not damage your carbon handlebars. Handlebars are designed to hold the force of a 200+ lb rider that is holding them at the very ends where the most leverage is possible. A Mammoth rack holds the bars near the stem where they are strongest. There are always risks when transporting bikes behind a vehicle and bouncing down the road can sometimes wear the finish over time, but not damage the bars.
In order to keep our prices as low as possible we do not offer any pro deals or individual sponsorships. We do proudly sponsor our local trail associations.
Yes, any standard 5/8″ locking hitch pin will secure the rack to the vehicle. Anti-rattle locking hitch pins will not work with the Mammoth as the Mammoth already has a built in anti-rattle feature. The Mammoth hitch wedge is also a deterrent as it has to be loosened with a wrench before the rack can be removed from the vehicle.
Yes! When the rack is in the pivot position it will allow the tailgate to fully open on full size and half size trucks.
With the exception of the downhill brackets for a dual crown fork we do not currently sell the handlebar brackets individually.
Yes. After prolonged use if the rubber on the handlebar brackets needs to be replaced it can be cut off and replaced with new soft PVC or automotive hose that can be found at most hardware stores or automotive parts stores.
YES! We have floor stands for sale and they will hold Mammoth Mounts Racks with a full set of bikes as well as any other brand with a 2″ hitch!
